Standing Up Again After The Moment Of Despair

By Sharon Richardson

Sometimes living feels like dying. It happens when everything around you is full of toxicity. You feel worthless if you keep on getting fired at any jobs you applied. You feel emotional pain when someone who you trusted very much suddenly betrays you. And you probably feel like dying when you lose someone very important to you. Those just fall on loneliness feeling and worse, it could lead to depression. Hope will still be there for you even after waking up from a morning of despair.

Tragedies could really affect the life of person. It is somehow like a huge storm suddenly changing everything around your and leaving you broken into pieces. As a result, fixing those broken pieces is difficult and it would take long for it to be fully recovered. Experiencing some tragic incidents has emotional impacts to people.

For example, an ace basketball player was involved in a car accident. And his legs were damaged on that incident. As a result, he missed the finals in Nationals and his team was defeated. That will really be devastating and desolating in his part and perhaps that moment will keep on haunting him.

Experiencing those incidents especially in regular days is not good anymore. You cannot let yourself tolerate those pains that you felt always. Your friends and family are doing their best to help in order for you to function well again. However, you chose not to.

When bad things happen to you, your life could not just remain stuck up with those things. You tend to grieve and then your family and friends try to help but you chose to push them away. They might not understand what you were going through but staying on that condition will not help.

For some, the best way to make yourself better is distractions. Unfortunately, that method is not somewhat effective. You are just likely escaping yourself from what you truly feel. If you tend to distract yourself, it would just prolong the pain inside you. Might as well face it and accept that you are in pain.

When you lost someone, cry and never hold back those tears. Allow that sadness and pain to enter your system and accept it. Acceptance would make things easier, however, do not make some actions to adhere that feeling. In other words, inflicting some physical pain in yourself will not greatly help. Just accept those feelings and let it out.

Afterwards, you also have to stop and move forward. But that would really take time to happen. Just remember not to rush yourself on healing that wound. Like they said, time heals wounds. When you feel like you are not hurting anymore, that would be the moment for you to make decisions.

It takes time and willingness to stand up again. Life is always unfair. The only thing you can do is to fight against the unfair system and not be swallowed by your darkness.
