Writing A Fiction Book Proposal Might Prove Really Difficult When Unprepared For It

By Mikey Flynn

This article is all about using your writing skills to market your novel. Writing a fiction book proposal can be an immense task to undertake. Proposals are normally used when it comes to marketing nonfiction books but may also be used to market fiction novels.

The novel may be completed before creating a submission for the publishers. Different publishers have different requirements when it comes to proposals and finding out what they are will be advantageous. Doing research before writing the manifesto will be a good idea as the publisher may not need one.

When it comes to nonfiction books creating a manifesto is less difficult than creating one for novels. The nonfiction writings are basically all about an area of expertise that one may have whereas a novel is essentially a story. There is a significant difference between the two. Creating a good manifesto may take quite some time and will need much work. It is of no use to take a shortcut on the manifesto as this will not impress the publisher at all.

Selling a nonfiction piece of work may turn out to be much easier. The topic must be something that the author has plenty of knowledge on and that they are qualified enough to discuss. Having studied the subject and having the relevant qualifications gives one a huge advantage over competitors when it comes to selling the final product. It is also much easier to comment on a subject that one is interested in and has the knowledge of rather than making use of your imagination in creating an entire book that is worth the read. Some people however do have the gift of storytelling and can easily use that to their advantage.

Some writers will write their manifesto before writing their novel. The manifesto should contain the main concept of the story in order to give the agent a rough idea of what the script is about. By doing this the writer may market the story before completing it. The writer will then hopefully be hired by the agent who will want an awesome finished product.

This may not always be an easy job and getting the idea across could prove to become difficult. Some manifestos end up being rather short while others end up being rather lengthy. Either way it should be concise and should not contain any unnecessary jargon.

With a novel manifesto the content must be very colorful and gripping. Engaging an audience and making them want to keep reading is advisable. Some people have a talent when it comes to creating stories that engage the mind. The manifesto has to be concise but exciting and one needs to make every word count for something.

The writer should avoid creating a manifesto that is too lengthy as this may cause the publisher to lose interest in it. If the script is very lengthy then the agent may as well sit down with the completed novel. By reading it the agent will have enough information in order to decide whether the product is worth selling and also whether it could become a bestseller.
