By Rosella Campbell

Males who are in their teenage years are known to really experience bouts of insecurity because they are in the process of trying to find out who they really are. In the process, many develop some insecurities and esteem problems because they are expected to be real men at this age even if they do not know how. Of course it is because of this problem that so many self esteem books for boys in their teenage years were actually written.

One of the best books that could be bought would be one titled Developing Emotional Literacy with Teenage Boys. This wonderful book is written by author Tina Rae and co written by Lisa Pedersen. The target of this book is for boys who are in their tween and their teen years.

Basically, this book is about trying to shape up the emotional state of boys who are at this age. During this time, they are trying to fit in so that they can feel like they are actually worth something because they feel that their worth is based on how other people perceive them. The book offers techniques on how to build up the confidence of teen boys so that they can be able to find their own path.

Second on the list would be a book named Battlefield of the Mind. Now initially, this book had Christians as a target audience because the writer was a Christian whose name is Joyce Meyer. However, many non Christian readers have actually found this book pretty useful in their lives.

Basically, this book would concentrate on the negative things that would fill the mind of people who are going through a stage of having low esteem. The author would not only have some inspiring words for the readers but also some techniques for people to try. The author would want to try to get people gain control over negative thoughts.

One of the best of them all for males of this age would be one written by William Pollack. This piece of work is entitled Real Boy, Rescuing our Sons from Myths of Boyhood. Not only does the book contain insights from the author but also studies from real psychologists.

Now one of the main things that the author would focus on would be how the society perceive real men. In fact, this is actually one of the main reasons that boys in their adolescent age would actually experience a lot of self esteem problems. If they cannot reach the expectations that society has given to them, they will not feel worthy.

This book states that this kind of mentality would actually crush the confidence of young men and actually turn them into men who do not know how to express. The author encourages parents to talk to their sons and know what exactly is going on in their heads. From there, parents can try to guide their sons to doing the right thing.
