Valuing Grammar in Article Writing

A good article does not just give entertainment, tips, facts, and opinions to benefit the readers but allows easy reading as well. The best articles are written with labors of love through the use of good grammar. Grammar keeps the article intact. It is unwise for writers to overlook this important element in writing. Articles written without proper grammar are not worth reading. Sometimes you break some grammatical rules to create effects in your article but this shouldn't be frequent. You may lose credibility if you do this more often. And it's something most writers don't want to happen.

Advertisements and articles are not written in the same manner. Each type of written document has its own set of rules to follow and the rules are designed to help you. Grammar rules are not meant to be broken and were not made to give you a hard time but rather to help you develop great articles. There are certain formats to follow when you write a blog, an article and even in writing a newsletter. These rules and format help your written document look professional and makes the subject matter or topic enjoyable to read. You should keep in mind that you want to build a connection with your reader. Leaving out punctuation marks or having sentence fragments could lower the reader's level of trust on your article and on you.

Issues pertaining to grammar in articles could be fixed easily. A number of word processing programs have spelling and grammar check options. Online checkers are available as well but nothing beats a self-edited item.

There are also eBooks and online courses that can help you detect your own grammatical errors. Use the spelling and grammar check features of your word processor before your article or blog goes live. Article directories accept only well-written articles.

Reputation and trust for quality writing can only be achieved with good grammatical construction. It is always good to have short sentences with correct punctuation marks. Punctuation errors, spelling mistakes, clichés, run-on sentences and technical language should be avoided. Your sentences should be at most 20 words or less. This will keep your readers engaged in your content. There are times that longer sentences could be effective. In such cases, the use of a colon or semi colon to separate your ideas into digestible parts will be helpful.
