By Eula Clarke

There are a number of different type books which individuals can use for keeping track of life events. Some relate to diet while others relate to dreams. Regardless, using creative writing journals to write in can be a good resource for documenting various aspects of life.

One of the most important aspects of any journal is that it has the right type and number of pages for current needs. Many of these books offer dates at the top of each page, while others offer only blank space. The many different uses for these type materials can often help determine which type might be needed at any given time.

Keeping a daily record of diet and exercise is one area in which using a month and date oriented style is a good idea. In doing so, it is easier to keep track of food and drink consumption, along with any notes on exercise and changes in weight. After which, one can modify food and drink according to different outcomes at different times based on testing history.

Individuals living with health conditions like Diabetes Type I, or II, are often required by health care providers to keep a daily diary. In doing so, the provider can monitor any changes which might be necessary with regards to medication or treatment over time. Whereas, it also allows the individual to note whether or not there have been changes to blood sugar levels on a regular basis.

Dream diaries, most often people who keep this type history will want to have a book with at least 95-100 blank pages. When each page is labeled with the month, year and date, it is easier to keep track of any inspiration for that may have inspired the dream. Other areas individuals may want to note is whether dreams were black and white or color, and, if events could actually happen or have happened in the past.

For those simply using a book with blank pages for ideas, or notes for school, generally a small book with blank pages works fine. Whereas, someone needing to take notes while researching family history may want to a much larger volume. Once completed, the journal can be modified into a beautiful scrapbook with photos and details featuring past and present generations.

When it comes to keeping journals online, like those using "Live Journal, " updating can often be delayed. Individuals using hard copy booklets, diaries and ledgers can often write down information in the moment. Though, for those who can update online journals on a regular basis, the information can often be more easily accessible when away from home. Some people find that writing in a booklet, then uploading the information into an online system provides the best of all scenarios.

The most important aspect of logging information into any type diary or journal is that the individual be honest. For, if the information is going to be helpful in the future, it must be forthright and honest in the present. Otherwise, keeping this type information on hand can often be useless as a reference, especially when trying to make positive life changes in the future.
