The Symbolic Meaning Of Trees

By Linda Ruiz

If one would notice, the tree is often used in a lot of logos and insignias all around the world. By noticing this, it can actually be said that people in general would respect this entity. Now the main reason that many people would respect it is not because of its size, its beauty, or its produce but more on what it represents. In every culture, there is actually a symbolic meaning of trees which is why a lot of people would respect them.

Now many cultures would view this entity as a symbol of strength and ability to take any pressure and still stand strong. Now the roots would symbolize its iron will while its trunk would represent its own physical strength. Together, these two traits would fully symbolize strength.

Now in the Celtic culture, the tree may also symbolize wisdom and age. Now this is simply because it is able to live to about over a hundred years old and still remain standing before it actually dies. It is because of this reason that a lot of movies and stories would use a talking tree as a guardian spirit that would guide the protagonist throughout his quest.

Now the Bible also had its own metaphorical meaning when it comes to this entity which is mentioned in the story of Adam and Eve. Now there are two main trees that are mentioned in the story of the creation of mankind which can be found in the book of Genesis. These two are known as the tree of life and the tree of good and evil.

Now looking at the metaphorical meaning of the trees, one can infer that these two trees would symbolize the production of something new. Now the tree of life represented life itself and the tree of knowledge represented knowledge of all things in the world. Both would symbolize the birth of an entirely new idea as the fruit would symbolize the idea.

In many cultures, the tree is believed to symbolize equality and centrality. This entity has no gender nor does it have any side. It just stays there, flourishes, and gives its fruit to the people. It is for this reason that many cultures believe this entity to be the epitome of balance because it possesses an equal amount of each converse trait.

Now this entity may also symbolize motherhood because it gives birth to fruit that would nourish the people. It is the provider, protector, and the home for all living beings in the planet. Because of the original caring nature of this entity, many people would associate it with being a mother as that is what mothers would do.

Now the last on the list would be that it represents everything that is all natural. Now trees are actually a direct representation of nature itself because it is actually one of the very first things to be created in nature. It is because of this reason that many people see this entity as the embodiment of nature.
